happy b-day & Valentine's!

Some samples of Valentine's Day projects for the kids I teach at an after school program:
Heart-shaped candy bag & heart pattern friendship bracelet.

 

My kids really liked making these heart-shaped bags. These woven hearts (julehjerte) originate in Denmark, I think, but I've seem them in illustrations of Swedish children's book by Lindgren (my favorite!) as well. 


I'm hoping some big girls will try making the heart patterned bracelets next week. The technique for making those friendship bracelets is a type of macramé.
