ReplyDeleteI used acrylic paint & coated it with lacquer. I sanded just places that had bigger chips to even out the surfaces, painted and dried it, and sprayed it with lacquer. Coating with lacquer will seal the paint, but some artist's grade acrylic paints can contain toxic pigments, so you want to read the health labels carefully and choose the non-toxic colors/paint - especially if your child is under 4 - just to be extra safe.
